car has to be in the air to remove it as it flips all the way round to remove.

can be abit tricky.

Just do what i do and carry some TYRE WELD, then if yu get a puncture, spray that in, inflate the tire, drive home and then put the spare wheel on....

how do you inflate it tho? lol do you have to chance it to the nearest garage? cheers

tyre weld expands inside the tyre and fills it with a foam to inflate it
lots of cars (vauxhall for example) now come with this instead of a spare from the dealers

however the origonal question the 106 cage will fit a saxo fine

yup, 106 one fits, and it doesnt need to swing all the way round in my experience of removing them! One 10mm bolt and remove the plate then the other side just unclips! Remember to get the carried screw to hold it up!

yer so 10 mm bolt on 1 side and th eother side come off, unscrew th ebolt from insdie the boot thats lets it down and i will be sorted yer?

eventualy got it painted today. was going to hammerite it but didnt have any so instead painted it with this stuff called 'krust' which reverts rust back to bare metal and then primed 4 coats of gloss black and 2 coats of lacquer. well to far for a wheel cage which no one will see but felt like i was doing the right thing and kept me entertained lol

im thinking off removing my spare wheel and cage so my car is even lighter :P
Does this tyre weld stuff ruin the alloy??? For example, if i had to use it because of a puncture, would the wheel then be nakerd????

ive herd that you have to replace the alloy but thats just what i herd from a couple people other peopel sed they managed to clean it up and it didnt do to much damage. im sure some people on here will have experience with it
