my car has been juddering really bad i got told it would be the lower gearbox mount so i changed it and its still teh same, so i went to a shop and they said it could be the top engine mounts so i went home took out the battery tray and took that engine moutn out ive taken some pics (there not very good) could ypou just tell me weather you think it could cause this juddering?

do you think it could be that causing the juddering though?

i didnt think it woyuld be them because i thought the lower gearbox mount controled the forward and backwards play and the 2 top mounts just held it up?

the juddering is like when i pull away in 1st or everse it judders and it sounds like the exhaust keeps bouncing off teh bottom of the car?

thanks

could be. exhaust mounts ok? try putting it in reverse with hand brake right on and release the clutch and see how much movement you get, can see if it makes the noise then too

yer they seem fine mate. thats y i dnt get it i really did think it would be the lower mount because thats the mount that lets it move but it hasnt changed a thing supposeil have to get upper mount and see if that works,

thanks again

Does sound like the lower engine mount to me mate, the exhaust bumping is cause it will be! For the sake of 40 quids worth of bits, i would replace the gearbox and lower engine mount, try to get group n or powerflex, will make a massive difference. Group a will send vibaratoins thro the car got power!
