Cheers guys...it's a shame, he was getting to the stage where he was losing control of his back legs so we really didn't have an option.

sorry to hear that mate, my last dog went the same way, grew up with the mutt. Bought a new dog two weeks later and it helped to "get over" not having the old one around

before i got my Dalmation i had a Bulldog, he was the runt of the litter, had lots of earing problems and epilepsy, only 8 months old. and vets advised it.

i feel for ya mate, whatever you do, dont get the same breed dog if you think about getting another dog.

i doubt i will get another one anytime soon. I don't have the time to look after a dog with working shifts all the time so it wouldn't be fair.

My family dog got put down a few years ago, it was blind, diabetic & its back end was going, i was 16 years old at the time & i cried my eyes out as we had had it since i was 2 years old & it was a smashing dog, also was a very good guard dog, it was a welsh border collie, i think that the bestest way for a dog to go to doggy heaven is to be put down as its not nice for anyone or anything to suffer, we got another dog a year later, i will never forget her tho, r.i.p

Its never the same when your dogs gone, nobody to sit on your lap & nobody to take out for a walk, iam glad we got another dog as it filled up that empty space in our lifes, my brothers got a similar dog to that, is it a cavalier king charles or somthing like that
