i havent got a car yet, but i am always looking on insurance websites and getting quotes for furios. I know this has been said before, but i am just posting it to reitterate the idea. I was filling in my details on bell.co.uk, and the quote came out at about £2500 tpft, i then added my mum as a named driver and didnt change anything else and to my surprise the price shot down by £900. when i get my car, i am not going to let my mum drive it, but by making it legal for her to drive it i would save nearly a grand.
hope this helps or is useful to someone.

standard practice but always useful to mention... not only that it sometimes useful for when you're pissed off you face and want to go into town. I hand mumSayer the keys and she drops me off

sorted.

thats good thinking, i dint think of that :P. Arent insurance companies quite sexist in a way, i added my dad to my quote and it didnt change the price, i take my mum off and keep my dad and the price goes back up to what it was before with just me on the policy. My dad is the same age as my mum and has had no convictions etc and has had his licence longer. Is it just men are stereotyped as more dangerous drivers?

not sure entirely dude... Ultimately depends on the insurer I would have thought... but yeah women have more accident's but they're often cheaper for the insurance companies to pay out whereas men crash less frequently but the claims are usually very costly... so I think it favours the women more to be honest!
