I've got a Keypad and have to type in some numbers to get the car started :zainy: (Back to the future style)

Now, got no where really to store my phone as there is only a little pocket. Was wondering how much it would cost to remove the immobliser so i could have a console with no keypad and wont have to type the code in. (But add a red flashing light on the dash as a de-coy)

Thanks!

P.s. I know anyone could hot wire my car then.

Those little keypads are pretty nifty tbh, plus your insurance may go up because you have removed extra security. And over a phone I dont think its worth it, but its up for you.

If you type the code in, start the car then just remove the keypad, it starts every time then. You can just hide the wiring under the dash.

type in the code, start the car, disconnect the immoboliser, and jobs a goodun, go down the scrappie and get yourself a new console with a massive hole for all your phone and money needs

No worries! :y:

Plus you dont need a new centre console, the immobiliser simply clips into the existing centre console.

Been thinking about getting rid of my keypad, car keeps blowing fuses which cuts the power to the keypad, meanng i can't start the damn car! For future reference, if i were to plug it back in, would it be as it was before and still use the same code, or would it go back to some sort of factory settings and have a different code?

If you are going to remove the keypad remove it but don't put it back cos it may put it back to the factory code which in 90% of cases isn't the latest code!
