View Full Version : How do you take a VTR aerial off?

How do you take the aerial off VTR. mine wont seem to budge when i try to unscrew it. Im after a rich brook short aerial and i need it taking off. Any ideas. Cheers Phil

Also try some wd40 first then try to unscrew with mole grips etc.

is it the ariel or the base?if its the ariel it should just screw off,if its the base then you get to it behind the interior light,also if somebody has had the car b4 u then they could have glued it on to stop the chavs nickin it.

pair of pliers, shouldnt be too hard! maybe previous owner glued it on or summin! lol

the arial is just a screw off mate, put a cloth round it and use sum pliars and use a little bit of force

cloth will stop u damaging it too much

8 mm nut its behind the interior light i think its 8mm
dont mforget to seal it if u fit a new one or it will leak hahah

I have a 98 Green VTR and had a crack at changing the aerial. What a flamin mission. I couldnt save the base of it to use with another aerial. Take my advice and rub yourself with WD40... seems it works for others
