i have a whining squeeking noise when i am at a slo steady pace threw villages and that coming from front of the car any ideas?

if its from the drivers side it is likely to be the alternator belt too tight or going, is it like a whine and squeek

could be many other things too :)

mine did this 2 n then the gearbox went :(

if its coming from the front drivers side then ide say it was either the alternator belt or could be timing belt or tensioner needing replacin...if its comin from the passenger side then could be the thrust bearing or worse your gearbox itself synchros!!!!... or like my mates car it was his power steerin pump makin a funky noise like a squeel every time he turned left or right....

Alternator its self might need replacing, my mates VTr alternator was whinning (not the belt) (Y) :)
