i fitted my power amp wire today but in order to do this i needed to cut the large grommet inside the footwell which leads out into the engine to the battery. ever since this i hear a weird noise when i start my engine. the engine seems to be louder for some reason any ideas

y didnt u just use the grommet already there? just behind the brake servo, and where the bonnet release cabel runs
is the noise when the amp is running? if so - it will be interferance,if not - its most likely engine bay noise...such as the powersteering pump or something similar

is there any way to stop or reduce the amount of noise from the engine bay. maybe by covering the grommet with something

Turn the radio off... do you still hear the noise?
Most likely electrical interferance due to the way you have routed your power cables.
The saxo engines come fitted with supressors already, but you can fit additional units.
Its possible for the noise to be real engine noise, but check for noises coming through the speakers first.
If its real... block the grommet back up smileys/smiley17.gif
