I had this problem when i had a driveshaft replaced awhile ago..There are 2 types of shaft..If the wrong one is fitted (like what happened to me), it will kill the wheel bearing very quickly..A few days it took to kill mine..I explained to the garage they must have fitted the wrong one, they looked into it and replaced the bearing for free..

Two types of shaft, the later one's i-e late mk2 have a tappered end on the shaft that fit's into a tapper in the hub, The early one does not have this tapper so if you fit a early shaft to a late hub it will destroy the bearing

Hey - with these bearing problems have any of you experienced vibration? I got vibration at 70-75 mph, replaced both driveshafts, 4 x wheels + tyres (!), repeat balancing attempts on all wheels...
You name it I done it and the problem's never gone away! :( :( :(
Last resort for me is wheel bearings and or hubs? Help

im a mechanic and i fitted a new one to mine and all it was, was the cv joint were new and stiff after a while it should settle down. If not ive had a drive which has caused the stub axle to come away from the flange on the wheel bearing but if thats happened there should be alot of play on the wheel.
