my car starts without having to put a code in .when the engines off it will flash red which is being used as a decoy but when engines started the light goes green and i havent put a code in .is there anyway i can put a code in and why is this happening.

Sounds like someones removed/disconnected the little black box for the immobiliser mate.

can i reconnect it and put a new code in as ive just looked at the immobiliser and it was unplugged for some reason.

Dont reconnect it if you dont know the code!!!!!

to late ive reconnected it i havent typed in anything but the engine still starts without the need of a code the light goes from flashing red and when it starts theres no light on at all. when i bought the car the immobiliser was disconnected so ive just put it back on and still nothing and i dont know the original code any help would be much appreciated.

Does that then mean the ECU itself has been decoded?
Previous owner must have done it for a reason, maybe the immobiliser had a fault?

yeah i think so its just dead ive just tried pressing the keypad with just the ignition on and the red light just flashes theres no noise when typing in the numbers it just seems dead .theres no sign of a green light flashing but my car always starts.is there anyway round this as the area i live in is full of thieves and the only thing stopping them from robbing my car is a flashing red light as a decoy.

where is the black box for my ecu and can i get my immobiliser recoded
