Need to get some kind of sound upgrade for my car.

Whether it's just tweeters and a sub or an amp as well im not really sure about how they work lol.

Anyway, some advice would be greatly appreciated smileys/smiley9.gif

obviously you need a head unit to give them all a head start..tweeters you would use for your mids and highs aswell as the main use of 6x9s..these can be wired to your head unit or to an amp.6x9s can give the bass of a small sub when wired to an amp
subs are used for the lows (bass) they need seperate amplifcation which is why a seperate amp is used.a power supply needs to be connected to the car battery and phono leads and a remote cable are connected into the back of your head unit.aswell as having an earth wire connected to the amp

hope this sheds a little light on the problem. im not sure who is but im sure their are some ice experts on here feel free to PM me if you want more info that i can help you with.

argh 6x9s are the absolute pits. They cannot produce bass like a sub and they cannot replicate the same kind of clear mids and trebles of components. Not to mention having 6x9s and a sub in the boot is madness, disconnect your 6x9s and run the sub and watch how the sub moves the 6x9s, then think of the same happening when the 6x9s are running.

Get some decent front components, a sub and a 4 channel amp. Thats all you need for a great base system.

each to there own. I have fitted loads of 6x9s into cars that are running them in the back and speakers in the front from an aftermarket head unit and the sound is good. Ok granted not the kind of sound me, scott and some others on here are after but if you are looking for a better sound and dont want to spend loads of money 6x9s are the way.
