Dials mk1 1.1 Desire

Hay just asking a question on behalf of a mate

At the moment she owns a 1.1ltr mk1 desire and wishes to change the colour of the dials to blue. I have searched on here and found the guide for replacing the LED's on a mk2 but I believe a mk1 has blubs rather than LED’s and requires new filters as well as bulbs to change the display colour :wacko: am I correct? If so does anybody know how to change the lighting colour of the dials? Or a site where new dials can be obtained?

the "desire" models are mk2 not mk1. What reg is her sax?

Thanks for a quick reply :y: erm it’s a R reg 1998 she was told by the previous owner it was a mk1 so I just assumed he was correct

yeah its a mk1 - so FYI, its most likely an eastcoast or an LX not a desire as they're mk2.

aaaaanyhoo, yes you're quite right that the mk1's don't use leds but bulbs instead. I'm pretty sure there is a guide on here somewhere (which i'll have a rummage for) which shows how to do it on the mk1 dials....
