moved to brakes section

iirc the 1.4s run the same fron brakes as the vts so thatll be fine

the rear you may need to redo the lines
but ive not sen this problem in my own tinkering (allthoughg some have)

handbrake cables can be got from most good parts stores

not much difference in the pattern of the disc tbh its more for looks (if you want better get bigger like 266mm or even 283mm)

not too sure on prices of lines ect as ive not had to buy a set sorry

I put a drum rear beam on a VTS (it came with the car to put it through the MOT it wont be on long!) The brake pipes don't need changing...

you sure about that i think they do need changing mate 99% positive could be wrong though, also why to get it through the mot vts come with disc on rear as standard dont they?

Depends on the year of the car and beam but my lines fitted straight on too.

Only thing else youll need is a bigger Master Cylinder as the VTRs is 21mm, the VTS' 22mm and the lower models have 19mm ones so the brakes wont feel as sharp

They certainly do, unfortunatly having discs on the rear doesn't mean the huge amount of play in the rear arms will be overlooked in the MOT ;) the replacement beam came with the car, was just easier to use it then find another VTS one in good condition.
As for the brake lines, 100% sure you don't have to change them.

I'm rnning drums on my 1.4 to Vts conversion and I don't feel the need to fit rear discs, braking feels pretty strong with 266mm upfront and 23.8mm mc

I agree, his are better than my standard VTR setup!

Doesn't help when the roads covered in snow!! :p

I'd just give them a good bleed with some good fluid and they should work well, can recommed getting 266mm calipers upfront!

Handbrake cables wont be any more than £25 for the pair. Obviously make sure that you get the correct ones for the disk brakes as these are longer than the drum brake ones

If you need longer brake lines aswel you can get them from Citroen for £17 each if i remember correctly for the 2 that run from the Master cylinder to the bias box on the rear beam. These come ready bent into shape so they literally fit straight on with no fuss

You can also get front brake disks and pads for less than £50. rears are even cheaper than that for standard items
