Hi all.

As above, my pal has a 106 gti, its well maintained with no rust, etc on the underside. But water leaks in to the front and soaks the footwells. We recently had to cut the insulation out to dry it before putting it back in again and it was soaked.

Has anyone else experieced this problem and could suggest where the water may be coming from??

There was a grommet removed when the power cable for the amp was run through but I can't see that letting in all that water.

Any help much appreciated, as were going to hunt for the leak tomorrow.

I got a bit busy while washing car recently and chucked a bucket full of water over wind-screen - this ended up in the footwells! So there must be a way in there around the wiper mech / bottom of screen somewhere.
Gti has a pollen filter don't it? Perhaps check the drainage holes are clear in top corners under bonnet and the filter aint clogged up/soaked and pulling water in?

We'll check all the drainage channels then and see if that helps.
