As in removing brake dust or rust? Any sort of degreaser really. If the latter, get the wire brush onto them.

Brake cleaner lol well tbh all its for is to evaporate the grease on the new discs and keep brake dust to a minimum when working on the brakes
brakes are brakes, if there rustyaround the edges there meant to be, the calipers just use a degreaser on them, test brakes after cleaning as always

i used a wire brush on the calipers and then when over it with some alcoholic wipes to get rid of the rush and just went over the disk with them.

Try using autoglym clean wheels, brake cleaner is your first option but, this stuff is for removing baked on brake dust, works wonders on my calipers, makes the discs go a funny colour but that gets taken off as soon as you go for a drive
