My Silver VTR (liam08) STRIPPED PAGE 3

This is my silver VTR. Its a 2000 V Reg 90 bhp model. It wasn't in great shape when i bought it, but I had intentions of doing it up and sorting out the bits i didnt like.

When I first got it, it had horrible M3 mirrors and some stupid polystyrene bonnet vent's.

First thing I did was remove the vent's which improved it straight away. Next, I put a Green filter on the engine, which sounds gorgeous, and de-catted it. Both of these mods work brilliantly. I then put the mirrors back to standard and removed the rear spoiler. I like the sleak look it has now.

I have fitted a set of black angel eyes, which make the front end look mint IMO.

It is currently having an engine conversion. It's a Pug 106 GTi lump, with full intentions of adding an S2 rallye gearbox. Thanks to Ross (raunchz).

In the near future, I plan on putting a set of black bumpers, with a black VT* kit. Which will look something like this: Thanks to M8RCU5.

Also, I will be fitting a smooth bonnet, that will possibly be sprayed black in the centre of the bonnet. Also, i will be fitting some steels soon, just to see if i like the look. But, as soon as i can get my hands on some black VTS alloy's, the steels will be replaced.

Eventually, I will have the various dent's and ding's sorted out, and a respray. Possibly in a different colour. A nice anthracite.

Please make your own honest opinions on what you like the sound of. Also suggestion's would be much appreciated.

They polystyrene, no they looked shit and i would never let anyone put them on their car because they are sooo stupid! (Binned them)

Marmite i think mate. I think it will look alright tbh, i look at it like this, if the black panels look shit ill sell them and stick my silver ones back on. Gotta love the simplicity of Saxo's ay? ;)

Very nice mate! One thing I would change is the front grill, but thats just me!

Out of interest, how much did it set you back to completely colour-code your bumpers? Thats exactly what I want to do!

It was already like it when i got the car, but i was quoted £180 to sort it out, because if you look closely its the wrong colour lol. Hence why i am after black panels instead of silver. :) If you find the right place mate it should cost too much. Loads of people do it themselves, and do very good jobs.
The grill will be gone soon mate, im getting a smoothed bonnet!

Well i had work, but when i got home, me and a mate did the alternator. The belt we got was too big :(. So ill sort that out. The mounelt bolts are in, and the passenger wishbone is all in place. We didnt do the drivers yet because it was just too dark. But gettin the slowly :D. Shall keep you informed. Thanks again for your help btw!!

I rides ok, bit bumpy and stuff. As for speedbumps all ill say is 'easy does it' lol. But i recommend a 50mm drop. Looks good and handles sweet.

I finally got the car started today with the VTS lump in it! How happy was I? It was emotional lol!

I have to sort the lower mount out in the morning and then put the car all back together. So, not long and ill be out terrorising Swindon once again. :)

It's actually working properly now :) These 4 weeks of getting annoyed and problem solving will hopefully be worth it. I can't wait for the first drive. Im itching to give it some beans :P.
Its all sorted engine wise, its now a case of putting the car back together.
Shouldnt be too hard from here on.

Well the oil leak seems to be sorted now. THANKGOD!! It runs sweet as a nut.
So much quicker than a VTR. Love it.

Well, thats it. The conversion is finished. Im so happy with it. The time and effort put in seems so worth it now. It looks so good and feels even better. The Green Cotton Raceland really finishes it off.

Not sure what i wanna do next. The VTR alloys are up for sale so that i can buy my self some VTS alloys. So ill be crusing on steels for a while. But i dunno if id rather a 4-2-1 mani. Tbh the power its giving atm is more than enough, even though a mani isnt going to add lots more power, id rather spend £200 on something else.

Im not going to strip it now, im going to keep my eye out for a clean GTi interior.

- Gti Interior
- VTS Alloys
- New boot, wings, doors and a bonnet
- GTi 180 brakes (Come on Ross fit your 4 pots)
