BMW Z4 2.2i SE

A few of you may of seen that I wrote my VTR off last week.. Man Im glad I did!

After speaking to my dad about my work being pissed with me for not coming in for a week (no transport to basingstoke other than a £30 taxi) he decided to look into insuring me on his BMW Z4 SE 2.2i Convertible!!

After looking at quoets on confused.com for a years insurance we realised it was stupidly expensive to do it that way, cheapest i could get was £7,089.63!!! Insane.

So we looked into doing it for a week whilst i look for another VTR and BINGO!... One weeks insurance £136! Its now all gone through so im off to go for a spin haha! Cant fucking wait to see how quick this thing goes, im hopping straight onto the BVR, see what top end it gets!!

Oh and obviously daddy thinks im driving it within speed limits.. of course! Just hope I dont spin it, never driven a RWD before!

(BTW I may have gotten a few details about how we did this wrong, i believe im now on his policy in order to do this or summit along those lines!!)

Well I live in Frimley on the estate next to the hospital! Near Toby Carvery/Grove School.

I'd say I was out every night in my Saxo lol admitadly id usualy go to a different area like Puttenham/guildford as police in our area our well hard to spot nowadays..

You seen the newest fleet of undercover cars going around cambo?..

Theres an 08 plate orange focus rs, black skoda octavia sport & loads more! my mate was saying apprently they all have 'X' in the number plate!

0-60 in 7.5 secs.... hardly breathtaking but will be good to have that lil more pull than a saxo vtr... or just get a vts lol...

i went for a little blast in it for 15minutes , i was a bit disapointed! i expected to get pushed back into my seat alot more than i actualy did.. lol

although it still felt a hell of alot faster than my VTR!

well worth the money for the experience tho!.. £136 is shit all towards a saxo!

I know mate, i use the Toby quite alot. Well used to anyway. Haven't seen any of those motors but i don't really drive alot around Camberley anymore.

There are quite a few police motors without graphics in Guildford as well btw.

my dad currently has the same, not that fast really. doesnt feel any faster than my vtr which is a shame as i know it was but just no sense of speed.
traction control should keep the back end in control i struggled to get it sliding. also you can see fuck all because of the enormous bonnet, low seat and tiny windscreen

Yup its rear wheel drive! No snow here anymore, NO WAY would i drive it in snow!

Had a fun little cruise in it last night before work, hopped on the M3 and got to 130mph then chickened out lol.. fastest ive personally gone in a car as my saxo would be hitting its limit at 120mph.

I see what one of the guys here said about the traction control, i turned it off round a roundabout and applied a bit more gas, feels wobbly/twitchy without it.. if you get me?

But yeh, im enjoying this :)

Unfortuantely not this year mate. Been pretty much every year since but stayed in in the end. It's always a good crack but i just couldn't be arsed to walk up there.

And tricksta it's no excuse what would you do if you crashed?someone pulled out on you etc, you would not survive and what if you got caught and lost your licence.would it be worth it so you could say you did 130mph to your mates? And age is no excuse, I have only just turned 20 and I have driven much faster cars but I don't go flying down public roads.

Firstly, if im doing 130mph on the M3 in the fast lane whats the problem? I've had Aston Martins, X5's and all sorts flying past me on the motorway doing an easy 120mph+. Millions of people do it, except you obviously.

Secondly Its not like im racing anyone through public 30mph roads. Im out ejoying myself within my driving limits, obviously i'd judge things alot more in my dad car, for instance im currently braking about 200 yards earlier than i need to at the moment just to be on "the safe side".

Yes 130mph is dangerous, its a one off for me in a car i will proberley never get to drive again in my life time.

I know what you mean, but it does annoy me when people say, ' you wana drive fast, go on a track'

its not realy that easy is it. id love to do a track day but it costs hundreds of pounds to do a few hours on a track and its not exactly convenient when you included travel etc, its not to say i condone driving dangerously on the roads, but most people do drive fast every now and again

Yes its dangerous, it was a ONE OFF. Everyone at some point has tried to get the top end out of their car.

Obviously I dont want to put anybody else's lives in danger thats why i would only ever put my foot down when i know its safe to do so, as would anyone else for fuck sake.

Anyway, you can say what you want about the Z4 but at the end of the day I would have a Stock Z4 over a Stock Saxo any day.
