Cutting out...

I have a friend with a 98 (r) 1.1sx and ever now and again the car cuts out on her. I have done an emmisions check on it and everything is fine there. i cleaned the thottle body and induction pipe also.
the vehicle is too old to plug into my diagnostic equipment so cant see if it has thrown up any codes...
was thinking maybe a temperature sender playing up but not positive on that one.
Any relavent help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jaxo,

This happened to my girlfriends pug 106, turns out it was a nakered battery. The car would be driving along fine then the engine would just stop.

Only replaced the battery because when we had a ton of snow the car struggled to start in the mornings.

After the new battery was fitted, no more conking out!
