Up until last month i was running a group N Helix clutch set up on my VTR Turbo (4 paddle one) ...... So the story goes driving along one night gave it a bit of stick loud snapping noise , no drive , thought ok no problem either a shaft or gearbox (which would have been the first gearbox my car has had) so i stripped it down found the splines end snapped off the passenger side shaft ,

so i changed that still no drive so the box came off ... i then spotted that all the teeth had stripped in the clutch plate (reason for no drive)

which was a bit of a bummer as i was up a mates unit and needed the car out ready for him to work there the next day ... so i had a standard Valeo centre plate which i put in just to get me home ! which worked so i drove it home not giving it to much jip

So the cars been off the road why i sort a new clutch .... been looking about as i only want a clutch plate as the pressure plate is ok ....

The question i need answerd is what one do i go for and where can i just get a clutch plate from ? ? ?

I've spotted OMP fast road centre plates are these any good ? or should i stick to Helix ? ? ?

gmc sell the friction plates for the helix. and at a reasonable rate i think. thats where i got my 4 paddle helix clutch from.

The Helix ones suffer from there being too much play on the input shaft to the box, so if you do go for another, check on the box before fitting to the car.

Cant get much better than an AP one, but be prepaired to pay a few bucks..

Already had a reply over on SSC off John form GMC going to give him a little tinkle in the morning see what the damage is on a new centre plate

I'll try Demon Tweeks aswell .... but they always seem overpriced on everything
