Basically my mate was reversing out of college and another kid reversed into the side of his car and put a nice dint in the side. We went and got a quote from seat garage ( he drives a 1.9 cupra new shape) and they quoted £1014 because the full side needs respraying as its metalic paint.

We dont rekon the lads going to come up with that sort of money within 2 weeks as we move back home from the college we are at in 2 weeks.

A tutor mentioned though if he goes through the lads insurance it will still affect his no claims. Surely this isn't right as its not his fault some dicks gone into him?

Any one shed any light upon this?

Cheers

you dont loose your no claims if its a 3rd parties fault.

You don't lose any no claims but you do have to state you've been involved in an accident which may affect it unlikely though as if its not your fault.

As long as you're claiming off him you "shouldn't" lose the no claims.

My insurance put me through a random claims company when the moped went into the back of me. They were awesome. Just depends if the other party accepts liability.

Yup, as long as you have got the kids Number Plate or more thorough details you can claim on his insuruance for the damage.

Let your friend know this though..

His insurance will be informed that a claim is being made, it wont effect the price of his insurance or anything BUT there will be a little note next to his name saying that he has been involved in an accident & made a claim from another party. Nothing to worry about, just a heads up. :)

Over a grand to fix a dent? Metallic paint isnt that expensive. A full respray is about a grand.
