Rite i am in middle of cleaning down and derusting the saxos engine bay and i need a product to coat the rust that i cant grind off in the hard to reach areas.. I already have some hammerite crust but don't know how well it will work and how long it will last before rust returns.

you really got to try to remove as much of the rust as possible. otherwise the rusty spots will just grow larger. past the piece you've already coated. it'll help for a while but it's not a permanent solution

never seen/used it tbh Neil.

It was that irish guy with the while vts on here (tsdweeballs or something like that) that said about it so had a search for it. The sales patter on their website sounds pretty good

Aye, jenolite is decent stuff - turns the rust black. Then just hammerite over the top of it. :)

at my local car shop they sell this stuff called krust think its by hammerite but the container is in the garage so not sure lol but you apply it with a brush an wait 15mins and the all the rust is reverted back to metal, the surface is a matt black and is similar to primer so you can spray straight over it or if you like use some of your own primer. It gives great results but obviously cant turn back whats not there so if theres wholes it does nothing lol hope this helps

Kurust is brilliant stuff. It says that you only need 1 layer, but i applied 2 just to make sure i had covered everything. It also acts as a preventative aswel as the initial cure so along with a good few layers of Hammerite if thats what you'll be using its guaranteed for the very least 5 years, you wont get much better than that tbh

I have some small patches of rust on my door. Would this 'Krust' be able to get rid of the rust, so that it can be re-painted? Also once the rust has gone do I just the correct Posidon blue paint and paint over it? Is it as simple as that?

It doesn't remove rust. You'd have to sand the flaky rust away first. Then use the Kurust to treat the metal to stop more rust developing. Then prime and paint

Right OK, thanks. Where can I buy this 'Krust' from and what sort of primer? Thanks in advance.
