Over the years of watchin footy i have relised that there is always a "big 4". i think this is boring n personaly i prefer championship football as it is more unpredictible. For example look at Wolves never expected them to be first, i thought it would be an amazing quality footy club like Crystal Palace to be first or something.
I would like to hear your thoughts n opinions on which you prefer.

I love watching the Premier League teams over any other english league due to the quality in the squads. You wont see some of the worlds greatest and most talented players playing for teams like Barnsley lol.

Up until a few years ago there was a massive divide between the big 4 and the rest of the league, nowadays teams like Everton, Villa, City (possibly in the near future), Tottenham (up until recently) are all I think capable of finishing 4th. Especially when you look at Arsenal being the supposed top 4, nowadays their certainly beatable.

The glamour, class and style all associated with the premier league you just dont get in the lower leagues. Still like watchin the play-offs though.

Nah mate, I am a Liverpool fan :panic:

But yes, It's good to see Aston Villa doing their thing, and the best part, they seem to have a good few young English players that are pretty key to the squad :)

i prefer league football to be honest, i am a tranmere rovers fan, have been all my life and i just think there is so much more pasion in the leagues, where players play for the shirt not for the money, football has become a farse now and we need to change things around, bring in a salary cap like rugby league and stop all this, im bored ill buy a football team milarky, its crap

have to agree mate, without sounding massive time i've played at both ends of the scale now, and although the quality of football was better with the high end clubs. personally the REAL football is still played by lower league sides. most meaningful games have been with conference clubs to be honest.:y:

lol funny thing that was my club from 16-18. chesea youth and reserves mate. and guess what, got treated like cack coz was on YTA scheme and every foreign signing got put straight into a starting position for matches, whilst me and another 2 lads were benched, and would be lucky to get a half. was a joke. didnt even ask for paying was just buzzing to be playing that level of football. guessing they saw that as a weakness and put the massivetimes out on the feild.

I prefer to watch high skill levels myself.

Im a perfectionist in my sport and prefer to watch the elite, rather than butchers chasing around at weekends like headless chickens

but grass roots football is where it all started and where it will always be in its upmost glory. dont get me wrong, ild love to see tranmere in the premier league, but ild like to get their through hard work and effort, not just a rich owner

Ryan
14th February 2009, 12:12
grassroots at youth level, not senior.

Thats why theres such a large investment in youth development within sport, and lower league senior squads get squat.

you wont get there through hard work and effort, as you need the money to have the talent, talented players dont stay in weak sides very long, especially in todays economical climate

saxo_scottish

and thats whats happened in the premier league, every one has gone to the tope 4 or 5 and there is now no passion

Everton! Find me a team who has a better team spirit and team ethic...even united are guilty of a lack of this at times. You cant tell me ronaldo and tevez actually give a shit about the club, its all about the money.

Not really, my mate chris played for em for years, was dedicated to that club, was tipped to be the next big thing, instead they bought in class and flogged him off to burnley.
admitadly he's happy to be playing 1st team football but no way should he be at burnley, he's a top notch player. and to be fair model proffesional too.

How can you blame a world class athelete for wanting to move to a club who are challenging the top competitons, year in year out?

So your saying by moving to a club like United hes lost all passion for the game.....

Do me a favour, look through evertons squad, find a superstar with a large ego....you wont find any! Minus arteta, our players make up for their lack of skill and flare with a strong team-based mentality, hence why were doing so well for a club who rarely spends in the transfer market.

im not saying he has no passion, he just doesnt have pride and passion in where he started, where he made his roots etc, look at danny coyne, he went, had the big life, didnt like it and came back to tranmere

legend - proper lower league fans ftw

ccfc and proud me, and your certainly right about the passion, maybe not with our relegated squad last season bar one or two but the fans in the lower leagues are just awesome, real passionate, and real loyal

btw, i don't at all mind tranmere, my little nephew is a fan but you have a lot of fans who hate our guts still lol

Look agt united. theres deffo passion in the squad. Especially with the players who have been at the side for a number of seasons.

see i disagree, looking back at the final i'd say ronaldo was least depressed or saddened, as evidanced by his appearance the next day

giggs and scholes who you'd expect to show passion seemed distant maybe but scholes didn't look like he cared at all on the pitch

and finally gary neville didn't look at all gutted he was left out, he just looked angry

because all those players have big ego's and big pay, they'll get their cheque anyway but if they are left out it hurts their ego's big time, eg: ronaldo getting subbed recently

Championship football actually bores me. Premiership is just on a different level.
Agreed about the Everton comments. Already finished top 4 and two consecutive 5th place finish isn't to be sniffed at. Unlike some I wouldn't want an anonomus money man to buy the club and ruin the passion and hertidge.

Premiership head and shoudlers above the rest, bar a few teams. Bolton, West Ham.

Good game at the weekend Ferg ;)

They were better on the day. No arguements.

Although take Drogba, Lampard and Terry out their team and things change. Hopefully no key injuries next year for us.

its more long balls and hard tackles but a lot more passionate and commented there not all millionaires and playing every week to be spoted so you can get some amazing games and the bottom half of the table beats top halfs all the time but the premiership just got that much more skill!!!
