this may be in wrong forum but im new.
Hopefully buying a vts at end of the week, T reg, Red, 60k. total standard,

is there anything i need to look out for on the vts?

common probs etc

just the usual stuff you would do when checking a car over

things to check for are:


4 wheels
a steering wheel
4 brake disks
windscreen
ohh and dotn for get an engine lol


na m8 sorry bout that lol.

take it for a test drive and check theres no knocking when accelorating round sharp corners

yeh just really a knocking sound when you turn and the usual stuff.
You wont have to check for rust or anything

Get an hpi check done on it before you agree to buy it

history check police check and insurance claims check i think it stands for? check its starts well im having probs with mine starting check where the cars parked for oils spots signs of leaking change in paint colour incase of damage repair and rust oh yeah get someone to stand behind it when you turn it on to check the smoke from exhaust

when you go for the test drive - let the car run for a while and check that it idles properly. in addition to the usual checks.

look at the front of the head c if there is any oil leeking from the gasget. it might need a new 1. if its a garage ya gettin it from get them to change it before you buy it.

Can't resist this..... i'm 26 and pay £600 fully comp on my vts, when i change to the evo its costing me an other £50. The joys of being old and responsibile. smileys/smiley4.gif
