Was driving along at approx 90mph down motorway and then started to make a queer tapping sort of sound everytime i put foot down, then looked in mirror and it had spat a load of oil out, pulled over to inspect and oil had been forced out of crankcase breather, will still start and run but makes intermitent sound similar to a sticking valve, and a missfire, any ideas?? cheers

is there alot of crankcase pressure coming out the cap, could be a blocked breather system

Engine could be "Pinking" under acceration.

you could have a blocked breather pipe somewhere causing pressure time to do some maintenence check everything...

if it has a breather pipe onto the rocker cover remove that and block it with your finger if you then run the engine and see if its the same, then it narrows it down a little. if its still the same then possibly a piston fault.
And when i say block it i mean the pipe that goes to the inlet manifold
