Girlfriend wants to go away on Holiday in September time. Somewhere like Lanzarote (I don't want suggestions where to go)
I'm trying to save for a VTR with low mileage (So will cost a bit more to buy)and explined to her i'm trying to save for a new car.
I've got money set aside for the insurance (Which will be around £1000 for when I'm 18, and with pass plus i would guess it would drop a min of £200)
Anyway. What do i do. Spend £300 on a holiday + £300 spending money (£600?) or don't go away and save for a VTR? (I'm sure shell appreciate it will be worth it ;P)

Unless your going on parents policy your insurance for a vtr at 18 wont be £1000 mate.. so enjoy your holiday with the mrs and continue saving for a tad longer :y:

Well its the canerie (sp?) islands were planning on going
A quote on 666's VTR was £80 cheaper then what i'd pay for my 1.1 this year. £980 or something.

2 weeks in Tenerife will make you and your missus happier than a VTR :D

Screw the car, go on holiday! You'll have more fun!
Since you have a car anyway, just wait a little bit longer for the VTR

I give her the 'Boot' yea :p
I was thinking more like, get a VTR, go to Luton and stay at the easy hotel for the night. Sorted :).
I HAVE JUST FOUND SOMETHING ELSE OUT!
Parents plan to go on Holiday for like Easter or Christmas time, i'd have to pay half and would really be my last 'Family' Holiday.
What shell i do.
1) Holiday with Girlfriend
2) Holiday with Fam
3) Holiday with fam + bring girlfriend along
4) Get a VTR and go on holiday earlier next year?

Decided. Keep car until i get a pay rise from work
And as all this credit crunch shit is about and we're reasonably busy at work but gradually getting more and more quiet (But we could say its the time of year). I'm going to save as much as i can encase i get made redundant then if i struggle to find a job least i'll have a few £££ to live on for a few weeks etc
And as for tax law on a 1.6, more tax. Not a problem but just means more pennys and as the ecomoony isn't good i'd rather stay where i am.
Still want to do a track day though in the 1.1! - Going to wait for summmer/ Spring time.

tbh mate, id try and talk her out of it, i was meant to be going on a lads holiday this year, but decided against it, gonna spend the money on car, ive been away the past 2 years, malia and zante, was amazing, but this year, your gonna have to save more cos the pound is shit against the euro, so last year to get 900 euros i had to save 700 quid or sumthin, this year its gonna be 900 for 900, so having to earn more for the same ifyou get me, if you can afford it go for it, but i decided against it this year, just bcos of credit crunch (n)

I just got back from Amsterdam:
£500 gets you roughly 480 Euros (NO COMMISSION@ POST OFFICE). So really it costs even more to go away.
