Hiya.
As some of you know i am a bus driver, been there for roughly 6months now. I used there training school to get my pcv license, so to compensate that theyre taking 10pound a week off my wages for 2 years to cover the costs.
Problem being, i havent been into work or in contact with the company since friday. Reason being i had a major fall out with the mrs and she refused to let me into the flat to get my work equipment. We eventually sorted things out come Tuesday, but after 2 days of being back at home i still havent managed to contact work.
I duno what it is, but im just sh*t at making phone calls. The sense of letting the company down gets to me, and the thought of them telling me over the phone that i have been sacked is unreal.
I know if i never phone them, i'll have lost my job anyway, so why not phone them?
Though it doesnt seem as simple as that :panic:
Anyone fancy giving me some words of wisdom? Im f*cked if i lose or have lost this job.

Only thing you can do is phone them and explain, the longer you leave it the worse it gets

Would it not have been better to turn up without your stuff than have a little tiff with the Mrs and potentially loose your job in a climate where you will struggle to find another?

Don't phone them. Turn up and plead your case. You'll be alot harder to sack face to face buddy :)

I dont understand why you never contacted work straight away to say you had issues and could not come to work? The longer you leave it the worse the situation is for you so get off your arse asap or you 100% will be fired.

i dont think you can get sacked over the phone iirc, it has to be done face to face, i could be wrong

The longer you wait the worse it will get.
Pick up the phone.
Like now.
Why are you still reading this?
....
What did they say?
disclaimer:
The decision to ring them is yours and i'll take no responsibity for the credit crunch munching you up.

Managed to finally get some courage and phone the office.
Both managers were in a meeting so i was told to call back in the morning.

Might be better to go in in person, explain you've had some problems at home. I wouldn't go into much detail if i was you. Just let them know you've had a hard week.
Explain you're greatful for your training and promise nothing will happen like it again.
If your religious now is the time to pray :P ;)

Ive gotta agree, plus its easier to have a conversation and plead your case face to face, i think you should hurry and get it sorted though

so you were locked out of your flat before you were due to start work, couldnt get your stuff and didnt bothr to go in or ring up. then just havent bothered to go in since and are now scared to phone up to check if you still have a job?
if thats the case thats as bad as my friend who quit his job completely because he turned the shower on one morning and the water was brown, he went back to bed and hasnt spoke to anyone there since.
stuff like that does wonders for your CV you know.

I would suggest you tidy yourself up. And I would say you might have to embelish the truth and say your keys, wallet and phone were inside.
How you are going to explain why you did not bother to go in to work or make contact I will leave for you.

Tbf though when i first turned 18 and had my first proper job, (door to door sales) I had my A-Level results but they wouldnt give me the day off for it so i rang up and said i had broken down. Went getting my results went patying, shagged a bird and just didn't go back to work. Had another job within 3 days, but that was a different economical climate. My advice go there, tell them you have had personal family problems and say your heads been a mess. Apologise profusley (sp) and say you are grateful of all the training and it was a one off thing. Then pray you get let off with a disaplinary and a warning. Good luck mate. Wish you the best man.

You sound in line for a bollocking and deservedly so by the sounds of things. If you need the job so back you shouldnt fuck about like that.
Anyway, you've been there for longer than 3 months (trial periods at some companies) so they shouldn't be able to just sack you for doing what you did but you may get a written or verbal warning.
Take what they say on board, agree and apologise explaining it wont happen again and how much you need the job.
It may also help to see the Doctor and see if what you went through could be considered as stress.

One would hope they are sympathetic, in this crisis though lots of companies are showing no remorse and just sacking...
