Oil temp...???

Hello all,

I have searched (just befor it is said) lol

My vtr seems to have a problem...

the oil temp goes sky high after about 5 mins of driving? then if i turn the car off it drops down loads?

no oil leaks and the oil is just a bit above the leval(my own fault put a bit to much in)

any help please, im ment to be driving to yorkshire at the weekend!!!

How do you know what your oil temp is? VTR's dont have a guage as standard..

Also if the oil temp goes high a light will come on on the dash, is that whats happening?

The temp gauge at the side is sky high....

also can hear a bumping sound at low speed?

Thats water temp..If thats sky high check the coolant, see if there's oil in it and have it drained and re done to get rid of any p[ossible air in the system..
