About 2 weeks ago I bought a used 360 premium with 2 controllers. When I picked it up I knew that one of them was wired and the other was wireless.

Since then I've been using the wireless one, yesterday I wanted to plug in the wired one to see if it works when I realised that the head is round and not a USB? :s

Do I need an adapter or something?

Did you buy it 2nd hand? You're missing the USB anti snag attachment. As far as i know these are not sold separately and are extremely hard to find 2nd hand as everyone with a wired pad needs them.

Yeah it was second hand.

Yes. Useless unless you can find the part you are missing.
