Strange Encounter With The Police Tonight...

Hey guys.

Had abit of a werid one tonight :wacko:

Was going onto the A1 motorway and i was gettin my speed up to pull on, now i ALLWAYS if possible get right upto speed before actually pulling onto the motorway.

So i was doing 70mph then pulled on (kind of undertook 2 cars who wer int he left lane while i was on the slip road)

I continued to go untill i hit approx 90mph, to which i slowed down i was approaching a section with roadworks which is a 50mph limit.

I look back and there is a car coming up behind be, and he flashed his mainbeam on for a few seconds and then turned it off.

So i slowed down and pulled into the left lane and he followed.

So i thought crap, so decided to come off at the next exit and see if he followed.

He didnt.......

So i thought ok then, and pulled back onto the motorway and ended up going back past the car which flashed me, which was a black focus ST.

I decided to crawl past to see if i could see if the wer police, and to my shock and amusement, i got flashed the badge!

Held his little leather wallet thing up to the window and i jst drove on!

I meen wtf??

then he followed me, so i shot off into a housing estate lol

Just found that abit werid, i meen what was the point in anything he done?

Anyone else had this?

EDIT - The to top it off on my way home tonight, coming onto the A1 again, i cam roudn the corner ont he slip road, the slip road is like a 90 degree bend, went round about 60 in 3rd and accelerated full pelt only to glance a T5 police car next to me.

My mate got bated into racing this X5, got right up his ass etc, went up the side and revved his engine, so my mate went to get away as hes got a fast car, soon as he put his foot down the blues n twos flashed up in the grille. He slowed down, the X% just flew past and dissapeared. Sometimes they just want you to know theyre out there lol

well we crawled past and i had my GF in the car and it was defo a police badge.

Plus he eventually headed up towards a police station which is 2 miles from my house :wacko:

be VERY careful at that 50mph temp limit at the angel/team valley i got caught out on tuesday and got 3points, they apparantly are patrolling that stretch more than usual trying to catch people out, i have a traffic cop live 2 doors down from me shame it wasnt him who caught me tho lol ;)

I was going round the M25 and had the same thing with a silver golf, just pulled alongside and flashed a badge. I just carried on, if he was going to pull me he would have done it already.

Another time on the M4 late at night a row of 3 focuses in black. Was a little wary so went past but only just over the limit and one flashed me, so I pulled to the inside lane and slowed and they all overtook me. Then I realised there were several cars stacked up behind them doing the same thing. Another BMW bombed past and they all took off, taking a lane each and their headlights changed to blue flashers.

plus, cant pull you over unless in uniform!

If you do get pulled over by an unmarked car, first thing you should always ask is to see their warrant card. They have to have them on them at all times and have to show them if they are asked. Badges can be faked; warrant cards have the same sorta thing that your passport has got on it (that glows under uv light) but you can see the pattern just by looking at it!

My friend got pulled by 1 of the black focus ST's on the M4 3 weeks ago. He now has 3 points for doing 90mph and they had video evidence, so cant get around it

Police round my way always follow me and my mates,
I think its because we live in a town and nothing really happens.
Sometimes though there alright, I mean one copper was telling me to get a de-cat and always asks me if ive done anything new to the spaxo!
He drives a 2.0l turb corsa when he not on duty though!

there is a scoob sti round my area that tryed to race me by geetin up my arse and revving at the lights, luckily for me i know wot undercover cars the police have round by me and that happened to be one so thort f**k that ill go and drive nice and legally and get away from you asap lol

You can always tell the undercover Volvos in the day as the windscreen looks a bit odd - like an oil on water effect if that makes sense? Must be the type of glass they put in them?

Like you say, they seem to have a bit of oily effect on the rear window. Maybe ts to stop the rain sitting on the rear window coz they have a camera that rocords the rear too.

Another way you can tell, is a hub cap missing OR more then 1 areal. Normally 2nd smaller arial on the right.

Also, always dark colours. Like dark greys and blacks.

Not allways, i got pulled by a SILVER Volvo T5 lol

Should of spotted the twin aerials on the back, as i was behind him and he flipped to thing up ont he parcel shelf saying "Police"

Got rong for using the bus lanes at 6:56pm when you are allowed to use them at 7:00pm lol

'undercover' cars can be anything. Our lot drive around in Corsa's!!!!

If you are being followed by a car you think is 'undercover', easiest way to tell (in daylight) is look to see if the driver is dressed in police uniform (duh), or at the very least, white shirt with those black things on their sleeves. If you cant see the driver for whatever reason, have a look at where their rear view mirror is. It will look chunkier than normal because that is where all the video equipment goes (between the mirror and the windscreen, or just below the mirror). Also, if they are behind you at a set of lights (and you can see their grille) you should be able to see the blue lights that have been fitted!

Not alot of police cars have more than one ariel now, on the basis that it was a dead giveaway. lol
And they are not all dark. If anything, there are probably more silver ones than anything else!
