Hey just wondering if anyone has had this same problem.
when i hit about 35, 40 onwards i get a sort of whurring metal noise and then it turns into a clipping/ticking/knocking noise as i get faster.. its kinda tempermental though on the clipping part. i dont think its a bearing due to the fact my mates car's bearings nearly ran into the ground and it sounds slightly diff and mine is much louder.

the best i can describe it im afraid, dont think anythings caught but then again i dont know. it started doing it after i came off a long cruise down the me25.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. =]

sounds like the cv joint have the cv gaters split lost their grease this causes drying of the bearings hence the knockin tickin noises....

if its just the grease and a gaitor that needs replcaing then you are lookin at about £20-30 max, but if its a drivehaft you are probably lookin at anywhere between 140-180 id say, i got mine done this week for £165
