footwell "neons"

hi guys, dunn o whether this is the right thing to do but here goes...
just bought a set of "neon" tubs from halfords. wired it up throught the ciggy lighter illumination plug, in the hope that they will go on when my lights do... but it seems they only go on when the lights are off... opposite to what i wanted to do!!! any ideas/help.

have you tapped into the wires or just plugged them into the cig lighter?

may be a case of you have got the positive and negative on the wrong wires, there is a guide somewhere to which wires they should be tapped into with a switch inline aswell

yea i put em in the back. cus there is the brown wire that i used which is for the illumination bit for the +ve, and i used the grey wire for the -ve. but either that or ive wired the neons themselves rong.. i cant be bothered to work it out imma just install a switch, wont be as flash but it will get the job done :P

i just tapped into the radio live mate and put a switch in the circut so i can turn them on and of whenever i want :)

well i originally had em in the ciggy lighter, but 1 fell down and i stood on it. so i decided id do it a bit more perminant. all imma do is get a spade connector and put it in the cig lighter... i no the lighter wont work anymore but i dont smoke :P and il just get an on off switch from maplin.
