reads dvd but not ps3 games
iv read around today and apaz its the blueray drive
anyone had theres go aswell? cheapest place to get it fixed? sony want £145 to swap for a new one

Common problem, it's broken. Why do they want to charge you to fix it, they should do it for free?

tell them that its there fault they shunt be charging you when i rung em the guy said theyve had a few with this problem and that he would be happy to replace it if all else fails take it bk to the shop where you bought it get them to swap it then they can deal with sony

They can tell by serial numbers, receipts mean nothing they are bullshitting you. Receipts only have a barcode on which is shared by every single unit sold in the UK.

mine is also broke atm, but it is something to do with it thinking its overheated, but it isn't basically.

mine hasnt put a foot wrong.
a mate had the same problem and they took his serial number and replaced his the same way as said above. the arsehole left cod4 in the drive though and they said he couldnt claim that back.

thers this thing you can sign up to on the sony website. its like an extended warrenty it costs £7 a month for a ps3 but u can close it at anytime so pay for the 1st month get it replaced for free then cancel it :y:
