Just been having a look around to see what sort of jobs are around involving driving. Would like to know what all the different licenses mean.

Whats Class 1, Class 2, LGV (light Goods Vehicle), HGV (Heave goods..)

What license are you issued with when you pass, class 1? What do you need to do to get a higher rated license, costs etc?

Thanks

Normal license is a class B, if you want to drive stuff like small trucks, you will need LGV license, if you want to drive artic's... HGV

If you want a higher rated license, you will need to do a theory and practical test for that type, will all be on the dvla website if you have a look

LGV is light goods, like carrying a couple of tonnes, HGV is the big wagons, with massive loads on them. Quite a difference

if your under 21 the government do a free scheme so you can do it all for free if you have less than 3 GCSEs (a-c)
but you have to have a firm to back you up

Been 20 you dont have an awfull lot of chance, you would probably need to supply your own vehicle aswell, would cost a fortune to insure you for companys... And as for stunt driving, think you need to have some sort of epic skillz at driving, like be an ex touring car driver, so you know how to handle a car properly

my license entitles me to drive loads of stuff i wouldnt even go near. eg a 7.5 tonne lorry with a ferking trailer on being the biggest. All becasue i passed my driving test 19 years ago and they just gave you all that when you passed. I undertsand you cant even tow a trailer on todays licenses?

You have to be 18 to be a driver iirc and have been driving for a year, we don't supply to under 18's so doubt the drivers would be able to drive them

Nope cant even tow a ferking trailer these days, and to do so its something like £100 of compulsary training and then the test after that! Tbh your best off doing car/ van driving at 20! as insurance for a company wont be too bad, then talk to some bigger hgv firms near you, and see if they will give you a job and train you up etc, that way you will have atleast some experience of a driving job you can show them and a reference to give them to persuade them! Its very strict training though, and get used to using you mirrors every 10 seconds or something ridiculous, lol

It's all about being 21 years old, working for UPS as a delivery driver and getting paid MORE than an easyjet pilot! It rocks!
