End of the World - 2012

Just watched all of the documentary on Youtube. The people who predicted it also predicted 9/11, war and invasion of other countries.

Its very scary, even the bible has some facts about Bethlehem being invaded by the Romans etc.

I'm sceptical about this, i mean they have proved it several times but suposly the world was supposed to end in 2004 or some thing but i never believed that as it was just around school.

Now, there's documentaries and proof, so i aint too sure. If we were, i'd say a meteor would totally wipe us out or the earth would open up and lava from the earth's mental would kill us all.

the 2012 thing is a myth, because an Aztec calender ended then or somehting, but the calender had to end somewhere? so i think its just a coincidence.

Most of it comes from nostradamus iirc, While it makes for very interesting reading, he was known for being epically vague like most mediums or "see-ers". you could probably use a lot of the "predictions" sound pretty accurate and scary but in reality they are vague and just happen to fit with certain events.

Ok, theres a lot of crap on the internet about this and people elaborate and make wild assumptions linking things through the vaguest and smallest similarities.

After having read Nostradamuses works he did not predict 9/11 or the world wars or anything of that nature, he made a vague speculation of man's need to kill other men. He did say that something of this nature would happen at some time, but not when. So you can make correlations but not definitive facts. nostradumus made many predictions and some of them have remarkable coincidences to inventions or events later on in history. More so than anyone else, but he did write a hell of a lot and much of it is forgotten as it does not correlate.

As for the 2012 thing, this is based on the Mayan prophecies and has some grounding in science though the interpretation from a long dead language leaves a lot of room for speculation. I have also read all of these! Basically December 2012 the world is going to "come to an end" is the phrase used.

Taking away the sensationalism and scaremongering we come down to the fact that the Mayans were incredibly talented astronomers, who calculated the rise and fall of planets and other heavenly bodies to within an accuracy that we are only just able to recreate with todays technology. Noone seems to know how as the civilisation was destroyed and even the language has evolved to an unrecognisable state.

The greatest achievment was predicting sun cycles and the magnetic rotation of the suns different magnetic axis. The sun moves in complex cycles as it has 3 magnetic poles interacting, causing sun flares (sun spots). These are so powerful they affect the earth, giving us the aurora borealis and australis.

Now the sun moves in short cycles over approximately a 12 year cycle but has longer cyles that last up to 6000 years. One of which ends in December 2012. Now the effect on planet earth of the sun shifting its main polar axis is unknown but it will cause the earth to do the same. This has happened many times 10's of thousands of years ago but not since civilisation and technology took hold.

Speculation of possible events range from eruption of many volcanoes to wiping out all technology on earth due to the electro magnetic pulse created (same as an atom bomb).

So to sum up (as this is getting long winded and I could go on for hours) yes a massive solar event is due to happen and will effect earth in a major way. BUT the time period for the prediction has been translated from a lost civilisation into a south american calender through the julian calender to the gregorian calender (ours) so it might be a bit off! Also the event isnt instantaneous it actually lasts about 300 years. AND noone really knows whats going to happen.

Earth, sun and all the planets are going to align too on 22nd December 2012. This only happens every 250,000 years or something. So, obv we depend our gravity from our star (Sun) so if that moves and all the planets are aligned. What will happen.

Any way. Planet 'X' is said to wipe us out, but that's far away as Pluto (Furthest planet) so would take 'light years' to get to us. Much longer then 3 years.

I reckon when all the planets are aligned, well lose our gravity or something or the earth will tilt and cause epic damage. There is scientific proof of this so that can't be made up or denied.

Only time can tell :P
