mate of mine is after a new car, budget is £5k however he can stretch for the right car (just cashed out a massive poker win)
he wants 200bhp+(the more the better) in a rear wheel drive either coupe or 2 seater effort.
i think hes liking the idea of a sub 6 second 0-60 but is against the elise/vx220.
what can we suggest? im all out of ideas

Jap spec corolla AE86. not overly quick but alot of fun and plenty of cult status plus next year it'l be worth more. some are fitted with AE11 20v engines and they are a sharp'ish car.

Big and comfy, newer models had aircon if i rememeber correctly?

Easily pick up a good un for 5k and is very easy to make big BHP out of it

theres not a chance he'd pay 5 grand for something with 150k on the clock!
rx7 isnt really too reliable so think thats been disregarded but he does seem the like the s200 so im gonna talk him into testing one

if he was to go that route it would be an impreza rather than an evo, hes wanted one for years. i keep trying to tell him to just get an STi but insurance is nearly 2 grand!
