i know some people may not agree with this but here goes,
right, i own a 2001 saxo vtr which cost alot of money about 2 years ago, im talkin about 6000, now if i were to sell it now i will be looking at about 3000 tops, thats 3000 lost in 2 year, right then, we pay insurance, say £500 a year and we own the car for 10 years without making a claim, thats £5000 spent for "just incase of an accident" which is wasted money if you dont, therefore by rights my insurance company owe me big time! am i not right? i am insured fully comprehensive so the question is, if someone just say happened to steal ma car and burnt it out what sort of cash would i get from my insurance company? its not the sort of question you can ask them yourself is it!

You'd get what its worth so you wouldnt gain anything and how do you work out that your insurance company owe you money?????!!!! smileys/smiley5.gif
And what do you mean 'by rights'???? Your paying for a service mate and if you dont have it you cannot use your car!!!

end of the day if your fully comp and you make a claim you only get what your cars worth!!!
payin loads of insurance and not claiming is a good and bad thing?!?
you cant really expect to own a car for two years and get a similar amount back when you come to sell it! if you have any respect and pride for your car burning it out would be the last thing you'd do????? smileys/smiley5.gif

have you just kept the car in the garage and added no mileage to it? or wear and tear?
if so - your car will be worth more...
but somehow i highly doubt that....so therefore your car is worth half of what you paid for a reason!
Modifications will also decrease the price...so your losing the battle mate, sorry to say.
and if you have your car "stolen" or "burnt out" - more fool you, and you deserve to get fuck all.

you pay for the insurance in case the unspeakable happens and someone steals your car or if you write it off, or you hit someone else and damage their car or even them. it ensures you get some money back and covers costs if people make claims against you.
if you were to be stupid enough to do an insurance job and got away with it, you would only get back what the car is worth which probably wouldn't be far off what you'd get for selling it. you wouldn't get back what you put down as the value of the car at time of taking out you insurance
my personal view of people that do this is that they deserve to be caught. its this kind of thing that adds to everyone elses insurance in the first place

thats the reason why insurance is so high because of people trying to cheat the system! not worth the risk, and anyway, you would fuck it up for when you get quotes in the future coz of the claim!
