Is this a new Thread or has this been on here before.
I haven't seen them before. Personally i think their POO!!

The 'Spoke type' connects the outer rim of tyre to the inner.
The next pic shows how weird they look in motion.

Makes you wonder how the ride feels.
These tyres are airless. Good news is the law enforcement spike strips wont work on these.

Just think of the impact on modern technology
A...No more air valves.
B...No more air compressors at petrol stations.
C...No more repair kits.
D...no more flats.
Still think they look.....:barf:

Apart from the people who refuse to change because they look wank and the fact they're going to cost a small fortune and wear just like any other tyre will. And they look wank and if i were still young enough to get away with it i'd fill the gaps up with rocks on unsuspecting victims and btw they look wank.

theyre only see through to show how it works, when/if released they'll have sidewalls

only downside i can see with these would be increased road noise!!

I have to say what if one did break, you would end up on the rim and damage your alloy!

Look at the way it bends in that pic. One nice pothole, one nice buckled rim.

You seen the videos for them?
Bascially, theres a demonstration.. they put these tyres on a sort of, army vehicle.. and drive it over a mine/explosion
Even though the tyre is disfigured, it's still drivable.
If you had a normal tyre.. they'd be fuxored... or.. change it.

Why cant people get that they only dont have a sidewall to show the technology
i think they would be good, no more nails making people have to stop and put the spare on

i think they will tbh pred, the plastic wont bend sideways too much i doubt, bet it would be good on the rep mobiles, nothing will overthrow the modern tyres though

i can see the benefits i just don't think they are practical... they have just improved something that doesn't really need improving! apart from flats...

14th March 2009, 00:49
would they cheaper to produce than normal tyres?
Maxamus
14th March 2009, 00:53
I'm gonna guess no... gotta make their money back on development id think

thought these were made by michelin
theres no walls to show the tyre technology and you will be able to buy harder softer tyres depening on car etc so you woundt notice any difference really...

tyre profile will still wear out just as much as you'd have with regular tyres.
i don't see the point, except from use on army vehicles for safety.
