First plans for your saxo or regrets.

Can anyone rmember what their first plans were for their saxo when they got it, or any mods you regret?

Mines changed ALOT

When i first got the saxo, my plans sounded so chavvy, and it actually did with the alloys that came with it and the sub in the parcel shelf lol. Im already lolling about what i did to the car in the first place.

My plans were:

Vts wheels in black
Lowered on spax springs
Tints all round
ICE
Angel eyes
Badboy bonnet
French plates

Out of all of that i only actually acheived the VTS wheels, but in white and french plates lol.

Instead now ive focused on the chassis and performance of the car.

Mods i regret:
6x9's
sub in parcel shelf (so chavv)

So, what were your first plans and what mods you regret? Post uppp!!

I did at one point consider Lexus lights. My brother gave me a lot of grief so I went for smoked jewels instead!

I did have a peugeot 106 1.1 and decided to put lexus lights and a 5" universal backbox on...oh dear!!!!

I miss this car, it was so reliable! Only ever had to change the tyres and windscreen wiper blade in 18 months :(

my biggest regret is why the ferk did i buy a VTR when if i had waited a month or two i could have scrapped enough together for a VTS instead.

other than that, actually selling my m3 Astra GSI sprinter to get the saxo in the first place :wall:

I was thinking borbet flats and all smoothed up, lambo doors and some whoop-toosh. so far she's got a £25 airfilter, black diamond clutch and a wash and polish.

i just had the trouble of fixing what the chav did to the car before i bought it lol so far im happy with what my mods have been just waitin for the next pay day now so i can finally get my throttle bodys

if i didnt mod my 1.1 saxo in the first place, i could have got a VTS or a civic jordan!

My original plans were;

Big loud exhaust > did get a 5" one but didnt fit it, £15 down the drain.
lexus lights > which i did buy.
Chrome ripspeed wipers.
Chrome number plate surrounds.
Chrome wheel trims.

and thats it tbh, fail.

My one regret;

Getting lexus lights and had them fitted for a few months, plus wasting £50.

I regretted buying the lexus lights because i was getting chewed that much on sax-p back in the day about them i just removed them, i was pleased i puthem back to standard.

So in the 1 year and 3months ive owned my car ive wasted £65 on something i didnt fit.

Only chavvy one that i regretted was blue LED sidelights. They was only in for about a month but were hardly ever on as i was so scared to get pulled for them.

First was probally ebay special xenon effect bluey headlight and foglight bulbs. Then some nice alloys from a newer clio.

Back when I was 13/14ish I always intended to save up £10k for my first car and buy an impreza.
Didn't happen unfortunately.

Had the good old sunstrips, neon washer jets, fake alloy wheel style hubcaps on my first car (mk3 fiesta 1.1 grandad blue)

Also found an old book that I used to use as a kind of service history (mods book) for my first saxo, the Silver Westcoast. Reading through that revealed some shockers!
Full undercar multicolour neons, silver/black gradient tints. The horrid lexus lights I ACTUALLY bought!! lol

How times have changed and I've had manier subtle car since then and also some not so subtle ones!

I have however enjoyed and am quite proud of the ones I've modified and that have actually ended up looking very good, like my Impreza, the RX7 and the Saxo Turbo.

Lets hope my current VTS will look and perform well too!

i totaly regret putting on the diffuser dual exit exhausts nad the dimma spoiler, wish i left it standard now :(

I dont regret anything really.

My plans to keep it a sleeper went out of the window when i got the carbon bonnet.

I think i spend too long pondering what im going to do to it and then after i hear aload of horror stories i get put off. But it seems every mod is a bad one to someone else if it gains you power.

Ill never sell the saxo, and it will end up stupidly fast. I just need to get most of it done in the next couple of years before i move out.

Mine was the Lexus Lights phase. Got rid of the VTR and kept the lights in their box, found them the other day. I would sell them, but who wants Lexus lights nowadays!!!!

My mates have circuit switches on their footwell neons though, so when you dont want them on you can just switch them off.
