I knew my clutch was on its way out as it was making some nasty sounds when it was pressed in, i asked about and the majority said i had a few months of use left on it before it would go completly. but now its broken, broken. the clutch pedal is stuck to the floor and is now permanantly stuck in neutral. so i looked on ebay for a new clutch so i could get a garage to fit it. only thing is i have no idea how much it would cost and wanted to know if any one has done theres recently and if so how much and what parts did you get and where from. cheers guys.

any info on this would be much appreciated as mine is on its last legs aswell, had to replace the one in my old westcoast and i think it was a bit shy of 200(ish) including labour, would this apply to a mk2 vtr aswell?

okay, so i asked about and had a couple of quotes not far off £300, this being a tad steep, i was thinking of going at it myself.
apart from the fact i have no experiance and no how to guide.
do people think i could get it cheaper if i bought a clutch from ebay at around £50 and got some one to fit it??
please keep the help coming, cheers.

well you think im wrong anyone?
i would be inclined to go with the cable as well or the release bearing as when my bearing blew to pieces the pedal stuck to the floor

if the clutch goes the pedal usually still comes back up, all of my previous cars have done, i would say cable myself.

It does sound like a snapped cable, dude. Try replacin that first.
I had a new clutch fitted last year, supplied and fitted by my local grease-monkey mechanic, cost was £130 all in. Pretty good price, I reckon.

Sorry, I was just being nieve thinking someone would have already opened the bonnet and see if the cable has snapped before posting - would take 30secs

ayup, my car went clunk clunk then the pedal sank, the clutch was fine but there are bolts on the mountain head (i think thats the name, sorry!) and they had broke, not too much to get them replaced. ive got a clutch that i was gonna fit on my furio but didnt need to, pm if you wanna buy it and should cost £100 to get it fitted from a garage
