Any one ever had trouble with a bouncer and managed to take it further ? Basicaly have a bit of an on going problem with one at the moment.
Went out on saturday to where they work havnt been there for a couple of months walked in no problems then after about 20mins i get grabbed on the dancefloor and start getting pushed out. Got to the bit where you pay for tickets and they threw me into the wall and started puching me in the head i walked off didnt get aggressive once and went home.
Didnt realise my mates lass had called the police and they came round the next day took my statement and pretty much said it would be my word against theres me been pissed up obviously and them sobre. Thing is my ears f***ed can barely hear out of it so want to get somthing done anyone got any advise would be much appreciated

Mistaken identity?

Erm Smiith had a problem with one, but I dont think it went that far. Not sure if it was resolved or not though.

Most places have or should have CCTV matey...... get the rozzers to check this..
Also it dont matter if its your word against theirs..... most cases will have to go through the CPS now so just make sure you push it as far as you can go

As said CCTV should show stuff up.

Thing to remember is the bouncers will know where the CCTV can't see them. There is a local club to me and i know there is one fire exit that hasn't got CCTV in and a few people have had a few punches etc. in there. The local Yates use the kitchen in the evening as well.

Im sure the incident will be off camera or the disc will have gone missing for that night.

Sorry to hear that btw, maybe go to CAB or speak to a solicitor.

You stand a very small chance of getting anywhere.

Doorstaff will know where cameras are and do it away from them, they are often close with the owner usually, and so if there is cctv of an incident involving staff then it tends to go missing before anyone can see it.

The industry is very cut throat and close knitt like that.

One of my mates got pulled into a room in one of the clubs near me and battered by some bouncers.

Funnily enough, the room had no CCTV and it was their words against his.

He ended up with a broken nose, 2 black eyes and bruises all over.

CCTV or.. Get a group of lads and go question them. Not for trouble, purely to question them.

Ryan
16th March 2009, 13:22
and kicking off about it often lands you onto pubwatch around the area as a trouble maker, will mean evern more shit off doormen and refused entry etc...

I got thrown out of a club in a headlock for standing near the girls toilets (Was waiting for the wife before you start pervy comments) Got dragged all the way up stairs still in a headlock struggling to breathe and then thrown out the front door.

Told the manager as well as the police.

CCTV was viewed, bouncer got the sack, I got me and 10 mates into DJ Luck and MC Neat night for free (was supposed to be £10 each)

Surely there will be something on CCTV

Data protection act states you can get access to CCTV if you can provide a time etc. and know for certain you are on it.

Write them a letter first with the date and time of the incident and ask them to view the footage.

If they dont reply or blag you off with some bullshit, pester them.

Can't remember who you have to mention to get the shits up them but ill find out.

I dont know the entire world of doormen.

However I do work in the industry, deal with them on a regular basis and know some who are very intelligent and clever people.

The key part of that is I work in the industry... So deal with them more often than most people.

Doorstaff work very very close with the police, theres a very small chance of you winning unless theres evidence ie cctv footage

Few of my mates are doorstaff and tbh they chuck people out for a good reason, what they do after they cuck you out is up to them on how you react and what you did etc, ive never had trouble with them, always get on well with them

Pahhh bouncers are pretty much all dicks. Just go in with a load of meathead mates if you know any. Thats what we do in Chester and Wrexham, don't get any shit off anyone so its all good, or...do what a good friend of mine did, smack the bouncer so hard he doesn't get back up, bu be prepared to take a battering from the others. Luckily, he got out without them even knowing.

I used to know loads of blackpool bouncers. Wouldn't of classed any of them as clever really.

Probably depend on area more than anything.

if that girl called the police cos she saw it how many others did too? get a few witnesses and it might go further quickly... aswell as cctv and a letter to the manager...

You a DJ or something?

Anyway some are clever some are simpletons
All depends on what part of town your'e in? type of club? etc
Some Doormen use their brains, some use their fists..

I would definately write a letter of complaint to the pub (and write it in an eloquent manner or else they won't take you seriously), if you sustained any damage by the treatment I would get that in writing from your doctor, ask some of your friends who witnessed the incident and also request to the manager that you see the CCTV.

The few bouncers I know are nice guys, but from time to time you do get some horrible thugs who think they're king kong because they're standing by the door suited and booted. Don't let them get away with it, if they're in the wrong they should be held fully accountable for it.

I work as a photographer in the industry.

Ive worked from small venues to Ministry of sound and festivals.

Most doormen are quite well mannered people who have a brain (I know of a few who are teachers, IT workers etc...) Its the minority who give all door men a bad reuptation when they have a point to prove (usually the ones working in pikey towns where they are from da hood).

It does show though that not ALL are fat brainless idiots as you stated.

I punched a bouncer once, when i was 16 young and foolish!!

I dont remember punching said bouncer, was informed of it when i woke up!!
I have also been assaulted by a bouncer in plain view of police when PICKING friends up, they are like two peas in a pod bouncers and police (and yes the cctv was "broken!")

You would need several witnesses and some praise from the big man upstairs to win!

once me and my mate got refused entry even though we had only been out of the pub about half an hour and had stamps to get back in. anyway my mate starting argueing bouncer grabbed him mate said "get the fuck off me" he didn't my mate turned around and pushed him off and got him against wall i pulled him away bouncer run inside and held the door shut like a muppet.

in your case was probably mistaken identity. but i would definately complain to management.

I've never had any personal experiences with them being knobs but there are plenty out there. One cunt nutted my mother when she was out with work once ffs.

I'd try your best to pursue it, but as said, don't hold your breath.

Fix up look sharp!

But seriously, it says he is from Teesside, I think most of the bouncers round there are a bit heavy handed, although I've been very cocky with a few at the empire once (they chucked me out cos someone layed into me, said they ejected everyone involved in an "incident") so I was being really mouthy... I reckon I got lucky.

I have seen them get really impatient though, I know my next door neighbour got battered by some, and I watched one lay into a guy in the middle of a club for no reason, and one of the lads at work had a proper swollen face off one, all cos as he was getting a jelly shot, some random girl took one, and they tried to make him pay for it, he refused, 30 mins later bouncer came over, spun him round and cracked him :|

Bouncers threw my cousin down the stairs just before christmas to a club, he was in hospital for a night, they just said he tripped on the stairs as he was pissed (lies), sadly my cousin doesn't remember a thing from the night!

My door superviser licence should arrive within the next 2 weeks then i'll be working the doors for a while until i get experience to what I eventually want to do

Bouncers around here seem to let the authority go to their heads.

Just last week I was with my mate when a bouncer ran in from nowhere, pretty much tackled him on the dancefloor, grabbed him in a headlock, dragged to the fire exit whilst still in a headlock, pushed into the door where another bouncer joined in ragging him by his clothes, then the two of them used him to push the door open and literally throw him outside. The reason? His t-shirt, which cost £80, had a "hood" on it. It wasn't even a hood, simply saggy at the back (like one of them large baggy polo neck t-shirts from all-saints you may have seen people wearing?) They even let him back in - but said he had to pay another £5.

Same bar later that night, another of my friends got put in a headlock in the beer garden and thrown out of the gate and onto the floor. He still doesn't know (and neither does anyone else) why he got thrown out.

People just seem to take it around here though - with there only being one major night club in the town you either like it or lump it.

I train with a lot of bouncers and they are all decent blokes, but if you act like a dick then expect to get treated like a dick.
