ive been testing cars recently with the idea of changing in the next couple of months, so far have tried a clio 172 and a c2 vtr and vts, none of which really did anything for me!
went out today and tried out a standard saxo vts, it was a bit of a wreck but regardless of that i fucking loved it! ive been driving my lowered saxo for so long it was nice to drive a comfortable reasonably quiet one!
anyway the guy at the garage said to go onto the motorway so i could give it some stick! before i know it im at 7k and grinning like a madman!

so now my mind is made up 110% on my next car, and im sad because my vtr feels rubbish in comparison :(

unlucky! when my vtr started feeling slow i got a vts.. its a massive jump.

the revving did make me smile alot :)

oh i miss that car.

havent considered something abit more comfortable then ?

When i was looking at cars, my dad said never compare cars. But when it was a 1.1 Saxo vs 1.4 Polo CL i thought the 1.1 was alot nippier and responsive.

have considered lots of cars, nothing fits the bill like a saxo!

Yeah VTRs are naff in comparison lol...

I had a VTR before my VTS and the worst thing I did was test drive a VTS made me realize just how much slower a VTR is/feels, and how much more exciting/faster a VTS is.

there is no logic in that what so ever, unless you prefer it for economy reasons.

LeeM

bollocks to economy, i went to test the vts in my mates modified gti-6 and that thing really flies! but we managed 130 miles on half a tank!

the extra 20 horsepower really make that much differance??

Karl

other factors like a much better gearbox is another factor which is why its quicker ;)

Karl
16th March 2009, 20:35

;)

hardly biased,
had a VTR once before,
VTS is about the same to run (fuel) just insurance is the factor for alot of people.

why you would prefer a lesser car makes no sense.

JamesR
16th March 2009, 20:36
bollox to economy, insurance, tax etc nothing like that effects me. I just prefare my VTR, i have absolutely so clue why, its probably just madness. lmao

yeah it feels like more! has more power from the moment you touch the accelrator and it keeps going strong right the way through!

:fcuk: And i'm going from a 1.1 :A:

LeeM
16th March 2009, 20:53
thats gonna be mental! the difference between 1.1 and vtr is a lot, so 1.1 and vts should be crazy judging by the difference between vtr and vts lol

i would recommend anyone to jump from a vtr to a vts. even more fun imo, and obv a lot quicker, but its a better base to start from modifying wise. Cams and you looking at 150-160bhp.

LeeM
16th March 2009, 21:04
ive decided on the exact parts im buying for it already lol!

LeeM

test drive it honest didnt do anything for me was well dissapointed tbh..

going from a 1.1 to a vts is quite alot seems alot of people jump to vt's and more and more is getting binned :n:

i love my vts not drove many cars with such a fun factor :p

People talk about the VTS as if it was a super car. I've test drove a few and wasn't impressed at all even though my daily run about is slower.

its a fun car theres no denying

its quite quick off the mark too

i kinda seen the light though, my golf would keep with the vts to 60 and then rape it from there onwards..

doesnt handle tho :homme:

Went out in a vtr last night. First time in ages. They are pretty slow in comparison to the 1.6 16v.

It doesnt shout at me like it once did as a "Quick car",

my friend has a Metro that outpaces Focus ST's and that doesnt seem that quick any longer..

I stupidly drove Yates' VTS around Nurburgring and sadly I couldn't shake off the 'I must get Saxo Vts' bug.

so i bought one.

A VTR just says "I tried to get a fast hatchback, but i failed, so i bought a VTR"

VTS all the way!

Cams and you looking at 150-160bhp.Think that's very optimistic personally!

16v's are great fun... used to own one... but would never go back.

Is that why you bought a 2 tone?

it was either a two tone MkII or a grey MkI

I don't like MkI's...
