i have recently taken off all side trim front and rear bumpers and decided i dont like the black trim or bumpers makes the car seem dated and bit of a old banger so i got colour code and desided to colour match all the panels:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/matt_ryan/Picture004.jpg
while i was working on front bumper i got silly idea to cut away the bottom vent pillars to open the mouth up i then fibre glassed holes from doing so and applied body filler over that shaped and sanded ready for paint:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/matt_ryan/Picture003.jpg
can kind of see from this what i mean i have also fitted a black mess to it.
i have just finished all the priming and painting got all the bumpers and trim back on and this is what i got now:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/matt_ryan/GetAttachment3.jpg
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/matt_ryan/GetAttachment4.jpg
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/matt_ryan/GetAttachment2.jpg
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e357/matt_ryan/GetAttachment1.jpg
still got to paint door handles and indent section on side mirrors and picking up some new 15" 5spoke 3stud alloys i got of ebay will put pics up once fitted.

looks nice mate, very clean example
slam a vts lump in there ;) sleeper ftw
as for audio, ideally youd just want amped comps up front, and a sub in the rear.. will be better than any speakers in the shelf

Yeh new lump is needed been lookin at some engines but I think that will be a much later job as what I wanna do now is bacially make car look bit get some performance done then get like a nice car turn this one to track/road car do engine swap fit wit turbo updated cam block unit manifold fit with full hi spec brakes front rear put serious suspension on adjust camber all that stuff lol so not much

Um, changed the HU and washed it after 1000 miles. Wasnt too bothered about it as its only a 1.0 and didnt have the money or time. I paid £995 and it had done 66,500 miles iirc.
Crashed it in January.
Now have a Mk II VTS :fcuk:

just the front... the rear is just a torsion bar (no springs) you dont need any parts to lower it, its just labour.

When i put my alloys on the steering felt a lot heavier, didnt really notice too much improvement in handling, but didnt have steelies on for very long.
50mm drop will give a nice feeling of more grip in corners, just becareful it isnt too low and start to scrub on full lock.

Nice car this :)
Really like what you did to the front bumper. I did it to a VT bumper, and i was thinking of doing it to my 1.1 bumper but i couldn't be bothered :(
Looks really good though!
If you're still thinking of getting a K&N induction kit.. then DONT!
I've got one, and tbh it's all noise..
They're a pretty bad design i think, and in theory they'll just make you loose power.
I'd try to do something custom, with like a universal cone filter mounted away from the engine somewhere.. then you dont get heatsoak.
The K&N will give you a real headache on motorways!
But yes, sorry for being negative, i'll try and be more positive in future :)
Definitely tint the front lights, it'll look ace!

It's the original bumper mate I just cut away the center piece took ages to get the lines angles looking smooth and then fibre glass it and apply body filler but all original plastic parts sanded primed and painted

heya dude im in the same boat as yourself bought a 1.0i spree in white thou :)
simple small changes are the way a little thing you could do with the interior as i hav with mine is to take the vent covers, speaker grilles, dash surround, center console surround and pillar bits out and spray them red (i did mine white ..) just breaks up the interior a bit and if you do as good a job as your bumpers and trims then it will look immense mate
:D
