Why are 106 GTI's More Expensive?

...To buy then a VTS?

You can get a mk2 VTS 52 plate with relitivly low mileage etc for about £3k, but you can get a S reg 106 GTI with bout 70k on the clock for about £2.5k?

Im confused.. :panic:

GTis are rarer and more desirable, and Peugeot is seen as the higher class member of the PSA group so they retain their value better

Probably cause they are a little rarer than the VTS tbh.....
Half leather etc etc

Nah i doubt there more unreliable, I would of thought the opposite if anything.

Even though they are pretty much the same underneath, ive had a peugeot before and it felt so solid, was alot more reliable than my saxo has been.

Guess it just depends on how well the cars looked after

I MIGHT be part ex'ing my car for a Rare white GTI non sunroof model. Only mods are scorpion back box and lowered 35mm. Woman owner aswell.

agreed that is whay i got a vts over the gti and then put the leathers in my sax instead ;)

also the 106's look quite square and dated in shape imo, saxo looks newer and 'fresher'

Yes got to be how the cars treated my peugeot was the worst car ive had, everytime id fix something, something else would muck up :wall: i could and would never get another one just because the guy that had it before me wrecked it, and its just put me off for life (to note this was a 206, so 106 could be different).

Vts costs more to insure than a gti and the saxo's came with free insurance when they cam out iirc so vastly outsold the 106 hence the 106 is a rarer car thus adds to the price a bit, dashes are interchangable with a lil playing about from what i have been lead to believe so shall have a go at it in teh summer on my 106
