Hi

Right i have a mk2 vtr (Mauritious Blue) and its bonnet is a crappy Black, i say a crappy black because my mates tried to help out by spraying it in a barn. with spray cans.

for a while it was ok because it was better than being white and rusty on a blue car..

now after a few months its just pi**ing me off, because its really patchy and its flaking off in places.

how would i go about getting it back to mauritious without having to go to a specialist sprayer, i would but i have not got the funds atm...

sand it down, primer then the blue? or what? i dont wanna fuck it up again.. haha:fcuk:

thanks

Sand down soften the bonnet, 3-4 layers of primer wet and dry sandpaper each one after layer then spray blue

to get a decent finish you are going to have to get it re-sprayed by a professional. But if you really want to do it all your self you will need to stand it down you various grades of wet and dry paper. then prime it.. sand it.. then prime it untill you get a nice smooth surface.. then paint... then lacquer it and leave it about a week to dry.. all this needs to be done in a dry dust free environment.

However with little experience and using spray cans you are never going to be happy with the results. I would suggest sit tight and save your money until you can afford to get it done by a pro.

dont do it your self, you will never get it looking right, you can do the prep work but with a compresor and spray gun and the knowlage of spaying things you cant do it, will look very very patchy, dull and have hardly anyshine if you do it your self with rattle cans.
