Saxo vts 1999 mk 1 model engine misfiring

hi i own a sxo vts mk 1 model. im having problems with the engine misfiring.
sometimes it will be fine then all of a sudden it will just randomly start misfiring and spluttering. also when im at traffic lights it will just start reving by itslef and sumtimes cuts out.
ive had new spark plugs fitted and a new coil pack but the problem hasnt gone away.
i did notice when it did it earlyer it was making a hissing noise from the engine??
i have a k&n induction kit fitted on it. didnt no if it was that playing up etc.
please could some1 help me because its pissing me off and mine cant be the only saxo doing it.

have you had it plugged in a checked for faults it could be one of the sensors mate

If its hissing check for an air lock 1st,then check all your pipes for leaks.
