aerial snapped!

well i was washing the car today and tried to shift the aerial out the way and it came off in my hand, looks as though the nut is still there but it will not fit back on, i have a small pin hole in my roof now.

is it best to see if i can get it back on with some silicone ?

need some really adhesive substance ??? any ideas ?

nope no ideas of me mate could you not just buy a new aerial?

i could but im gonna go for the cheaper option first lol, even if i was to put something over it like a black cap or something ? i still get reception on stations....
