driving down the motorway today traveling at about 60. speed limit changed to 50 so took my foot off accelerator and got a weird kinda ooooo noise. i cant really describe the sound very well. its as if someone is saying whooooooo but with a really sore throat lol. anyways i couldn't think what it was at first but then i dipped the clutch and the noise got even worse and louder. but if i put my foot back on the accelerator with the clutch up the noise goes away. what could the problem be and has anybody had this problem before. thanks

I had this exact problem week before last.
My cv boot had worked itself loose and the grease had been thrown everywhere.
Repacked with grease and refitted the boot and the noise has dissapeared.
My mate has had the same prob and it turned out to be his cv joint also, new driveshaft time.
A few idea's for you there.

yep i agree, i had exactly the same problem, my cv boot had split and thrown all the grease out causing the joint to dry up, if you catch it quick enough you can put some new grease in and fit the boot back on, but i had to put a new drive shaft on:y:
