hiya as you can see im a newbie just joined today and i got my first saxo vtr couple days ago and i went santa pod today and i bought some ultra jewel rear lights (they are not lexus light btw!) , aluminium pressed euro style plates and some -60mm springs and i was wondering if a set of angel lights and a mesh grill will make it look more euro or more chavvy? i steered away from getting chrome lexus rear lights. and what sort of back box looks better i was thinking about a letter box style back box nothing to big or loud and if theres any other little touches i can do except the obvious stuff like smoothing and euro wheels etc?
and is there any grill inserts i can buy i have a mk1 saxo and i can only see one mesh grill for it really but it includes the whole grill and mesh where i only want the mesh so is it possibile to remove the black plastic grill and just attach some mesh to the back and dose any one know of any just debadged grill i dont mind my standard grill but i just want it with out the badge on it so can you just buy black plastic inserts with out a badge on?
any help will be muchly appreciated
cheers
sam

lol yea i hate aftermarket body kits ther furtherest ive been is convert my first mk5 fiesta in to a zetec s replica and yea i love the mesh grilles and angel lights but i hate people labeling me as a chav because i like buying bits for my car i think i will grow a pair of balls and just buy the angels and some mesh for the grille lol cheers

fuck everyone else do what you want to do, its no wonder the modding scenes shit now because noones got any individuality. everyone labels any modded car a chav mobile. some aftermarket kits still look good its all about choosing the right kit with the right lines for your car.

i quite like the euro look, euro can look just as shit as aftermarket kits if not done right.

lol no i cant see the police man liking it but im not going over the top im not going for silver and black plates or small plates just simple pressed plates with the euro D badge on it, i had alot of hassle with my old personalised plate which i messed around with the spacing but I've learnt my lesson by doing that

110 percent sure matey, they are legal so long as there in the correct colours white/yellow and legal font and they have to have the name of the company that made them at the bottom with the approval stamp. with no german spacing or dashes anywhere or in the german colours.

cheers mayte im home from uni in 2 weeks so im hoping in a day me and my firends can blitz it and get the front/rear lights fitted, mesh grill, lowering springs/adjust rear torsion bar, fit new number plates and get a nice back box on (as my vtr came with a horrible small round rusty back box i have a spare standard chrome mk2 back box off my bros old vtr sitting in my garage), then wait till summer untill i can afford some decen wheels and getting the bumpers/doors/ boot all smoothed down and i might and try and fit some small carbon fibre motorbike wing mirrors and might just make the number plate recess smaller rather than just smooth the whole boot over so in a couple weeks ill put some pics up in less then 2 weeks hopefully

my friends got quite a few 1's in his plate so he can actually cut his plates down quite alot and still be legal and ive already ordered the plates now we'll see how they turn out can always change them back not a big deal

id personally stick with normal reg plates now being as even though they are legal, some police will still argue with you that they aint, and if you dont back down then itll be "lets have a looky here" and theyll go over the car with a fine comb. and theyll always find something wrong with a car wheather it be the most triviel. 1 thing id never do again is black plates lol that was quite amusing when i look back i got pulled about 6-7 times in 1 night and given a fine.

depends wheather you can be arsed with the hassle of trying to tell them that those plates are legal.

im quite interested in the plates being cut down???? are they legal i wouldnt mind doing that if they are but again theres always 1 hitler police officer thatll pull you and tell you otherwise.

Chav car to me have no influences or sense of a theme or design, and just looks at indvidual pieces and not the whole picture and what fashionable, in at the time. Euro is "in" at the moment so chav's are trying to do it, they will always fail though as they dont really do any research and understand what they are trying to achieve!

To answer afew questions that have poped up in this thread ye u can get legal pressed plates had them on my mk1 from dubmeister. Also if u want to go euro dont mesh the grill fella and as far as im aware ast motorsport or something like that use to do the badgless slatted inserts many moons ago but are rare and cost a fortune, only route is costum fiberglass.
TBH just do what u like dont go for a style and believe there are strict rules (mod'ing would be boring if we did) u have to follow and at the same time dont claim ur car belongs to a particluar group when its not. I.E- puttin a half show cage in & saying my cars a track car!

The mods u suggested if u tint the jewlers can mostly be classed as euro mods, however this does not class ur car as euro, maybe in progress yes but along way off. Subtle choice mods. clean lines is what its all about, and choice deleting/adding to enhance the overall shape or features of the car. My mk2 has had quite abit of work done on it, but 80% of people not into cars and about 65% of people not into saxo's wouldn't even notice anything diff about the car over a standard one, unless parked side by side and/or carefully looked over!

abit of ASW'ing my old mk1 which i never finished:

Hey.. Like i have always say.. Dont do what others like.. Do what you like.... The CLIO V6 has a wide body kit on and yet that dont look chavy.. So dont listen to people..if you like body kits you fit one... Most cars at car shows have full kits on...
