Hello lads, just ordered my ICE setup:A:. It includes the Alpine ida-X301 HeadUnit, and a JBL GTO 12" 1400W max sub, with a matched JBL amp. :dj: . Havent actually looked in the boot of my car recently, but wondered where the wires go?

Thinking of building a basic false floor, so the wires would run under this, then where? under the rear seat bench and under the carpet to the front, then up behind the stereo? Or where else, I'll have a better look when I get home, but any ideas?

Thanks.

Just pull up the door seals, pop the metal carpet clips off, run the power down one side just under the carpet and the rca's down the opposite side and any excess under the rear bench :) That's how I did mine and how I did loads back at Halfords

Ok thanks, but one more question: Why do the power and speaker cables need to be at opposing sides?

So you don't get electro magnetic interference from the power cable. If you did you would get noise on the audio signal resulting in noisy, poor quality audio.

then an easy way to make it look tidy is amp screwed against the side wall of the boot so that the amp is nearly touching the rear bench... cables can then be fed up from under the rear seat and attached to the amp barely showing.. any access just leave under the seat!
