Need some help/advice guys.

i have a sony alpha200 slr...

i got this at christmas with the 18-70mm lens it comes with to try and get into some photography. I have enjoyed it and have taken a few nice photographs.

Now though I think that i want a lens with more zoom? so i could photograph wildlife and perhaps get some good photos from motorsport. Because at the moment i struggle getting close enough to subjects to fill the frame, if it be moving cars or wildlife.

Does this sound correct?

I havent really got alot of money though... and i pressume money = quality.

I just wondered if anyone knows of any half decent cheaper zoom lenses? and what size to go for?

75-200mm? or 75-300mm?

I have seen this one that i have read a couple of okay reviews about.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated guys :)

Cheers

Ryan

mate, the sony alpha's are really nice cameras but you will get stung big time when you want to go for decent lenses... Zeiss = financial pain or Sony lenses which are iffy at best...

However thankfully, sigma and tamrom make lenses for Sony A Mounts, so you're best to explore their range for your camera...

Bit more expense but the 70-300 APO DG will keep you happy for much of the time.

that would be this one then?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-70-300mm-f4-5-6-Digital-Cameras/dp/B000B8GSJ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1238077155&sr=1-2

the review on amazon says about its slow to focus... so wouldnt be any good for photographing cars on a track for example? something i would like to have a go at....

thanks again.

i have that lens, its good enough for track

its noisy and slow but for the price you cant argue. it is a good lens for the money.

compare it to others like a canon 20-200, then its poor
